These are thick, single piece cutting boards that are reversable with two spacious cutting surfaces. Our minimum 2” board thickness reduces warping, provides a stable cutting surface that doesn’t slide around on the counter and is comfortable to work on. The boards wide edge allows it stand on end stably for display for all to see.
Black walnut with its favorable hardness of 1,010 lbf (Janka) is easy on knife edges yet durable and long lasting. Natural antibacterial tannins in black walnut work against foodborne pathogens (salmonella, E. coli) which make it a safe choice for making premium cutting boards.
Each board is cured with Odies all-natural penetrating oil that establishes deep protective moisture barrier leaving a buttery smooth surface. Please note that wood color and grain variations exist within individual wood species.
