Country Décor Ideas for 2018

Cathy Zimmer

For those of you looking to freshen up your country design style in 2018, you’ve probably read some of the “what’s in and what’s out” magazine articles identifying the 2018 country décor design trends.

We’re excited to see some of the design ideas that are being featured for 2018. What is most appealing to us, here at Treasured Country Gifts, and possibly to you the country décor enthusiast?

Natural Accents

Naturawooden ladlel accents are being called country décor must-haves for 2018. Because natural accents are defined as any renewable resources harvested from the earth, you have a lot of freedom when it comes to selecting natural home decor choices. Some of our favorites include granite countertops, wood bowls or kitchen utensils, limestone interior walls, or even bamboo window curtains

According to Shawn Henderson of Shawn Henderson Interior Design, natural, long-lasting elements and materials result in beautiful spaces that will stand the test of time.

Heavy Cabinetry

Heavy cabincountry decor trendsetry is making a comeback in 2018, and while white cabinets were once all the rage, Taysha Murtaugh, Lifestyle Editor at Country Living Magazine, believes you can still lighten the mood of your kitchen with warm blues, greys and creams. Colorful accent pieces such as breakfast barstool cushions, decorative jars and canister sets, or hand-distressed wood totes can complement your cabinetry and transform your space into a modern farmhouse kitchen.

Black and White

country decor Bold floral prints are expected to spike in popularity this year. However, if this bright style isn’t for you, Country Living’s  “10 Trends That Are Taking Over Homes In 2018” also expects black and white to be just as attractive for the country home.  Wrought iron candles holders balanced with white linen hand towels can give your kitchen or powder room a whole new look.

Want a little touch of color? An artisan pillar or votive candle like our handmade Nutty Apple or Sweet Cranberry candles can look (and smell) the part!
